In this scene, Frodo and Aragorn have mysteriously managed, thanks to the help of Gandalf, to travel to the 21st century to treat Frodo's recalcitrant morning sickness and ensure a safe delivery for the baby. I'm offering just a little snippet - hopefully I can offer more some other time, when I'm not so worn out! If what you'd really prefer to see is the actual nausea and vomiting, let me know, and I'm sure I can oblige there, too, just. . .it may take a little, 'k?
"Mmm."
"Mmm?"
"Mmm." Frodo nodded, eyes closed, thick lashes resting heavily against his fair cheeks, as he sucked contentedly at the frozen lime wedge Aragorn had just popped into his mouth.
"Better, then?"
"Much." Slowly Frodo ventured to open his eyes. "I almost feel I could. . .eat something. Later, not right now. After this finishes settling my stomach a little."
Aragorn smiled warmly, folding another compress over Frodo's brow. "What sounds good to you?"
"Mushroom soup, please. Nice, creamy mushroom soup." The pregnant hobbit paused to contemplate the question. "Maybe that nice drink they call a 'Coke.' That always seems to help. A bit of toast." He hesitated once more. "We have peaches, don't we?"
"Of course. Would you prefer one fresh, or those nice, soft canned ones we tried with you the other night for supper?"
Frodo shrugged. "I think fresh might taste nicer this time. If we have it."
"I am certain that we do." Aragorn rose. "Will you be all right long enough for me to make the arrangements?"
"Mmm-hmm." Frodo managed a tiny smile. "I think I can bear it."
